ZSE opens week on a positive but rather quiet session

HARARE, The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) opened the week on a positive but rather quiet trading session which was buoyed by gains in Old Mutual, Delta and Nampak.

The All Share Index added a marginal 0.09 points on the back of marginal 0.30 and 0.03 gains in the Industrial Index and the Top 10 Index respectively. Turnover was decent at $1.6m with good trades in Econet, Old Mutual and Seedco.

A total 1.541 mln Econet shares exchanged hands, with Old Mutual at 48,454 shares while Seedco saw a total 89,961 shares trading. 

Old Mutual gained 2.18% to close at $5.1092, Nampak rose4.59% to close at 18c and was today’s biggest riser.

Beverage giant Delta put on 0.14% to end at $1.6608. Axia closed at $0.1810 following a $0.0010 increase.

In today’s session, only two counters lost ground; Seedco dropped by $0.0240 to close at $2.0057 whilst Innscor shed $0.0025 to end at $0.8025.

 Insurance Monitor

Insures chose to remain in their shells in a day activity was limited to few counters. Except Old Mutual, all other companies ZHL< Fidelity, FMHL and Nicozdiamond did not trade.
