HARARE, South Africa’s funeral services company, TransAfrica is set to introduce an new life product, the Zimlife Plus beginning next month largely targeted for Zimbabweans living and working in that country.
The new product is largely an extension of a funeral cover product known as Zim Transafrica Life which the company launched last year targeted at over one million in South Africa.
“We will be launching our new Zimlife Plus product on the 1st May 2018, this product includes funeral cover, a transactional bank card and a cross border payment facility,” Sales Manager Eddie Greeff told Insurance24 in an emailed response.
According to Greef, the company has witnessed significant uptake of its Zim Transafrica Life product since inception.
“The uptake has really been amazing. Since the inception of the product about a year ago our marketing team has done an awesome job of focusing our social media marketing to our optimum target group and we have more than triple our monthly sales,” he said.
The company is yet to repatriate any clients to Zimbabwe. The cost involved in the repatriations to Zimbabwe really depends on the distance travelled and cross border fees, this can range from R 8 000,00 up to R 20 000,00.
Only last month, Zimbabwe’s Nyaradzo Funeral Assurance Company indicated that it was in the process of sorting out necessary documentation that will allow it company to offer funeral assurance products at its new branch in South Africa.
The group has a Randburg Service Centre in Johannesburg, which was offering funeral services only at its inception.
