IIZ president vows to complete new curriculum development
TROPICAL Reinsurance Company managing director Ushe Mungaraza who was elected for the second term as the president of the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ) says he will see the completion of the development process of the new curriculum before the end his term in office.
IIZ is set to unveil a new curriculum that responds to the changing needs of the industry and is working with the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Developments on the finalisation of the accreditation of the new curriculum.
The institute is offering certificates of proficiency in long-term business, short-term business, and retirement fund trusteeship, diploma in insurance and associate ship in insurance.
In his acceptance speech Chirangaza said highlighted his desire for the institute to move ahead with the development of the new premises into the dream school of insurance in Zimbabwe while pledging commitment together with the new board to uphold the tenets of good cooperate governance over the IIZ affairs.
He encouraged all IIZ member organisations to continue supporting the institute and commended them upholding the standards of the institute.
The Institute is transforming into a fully-fledged training institution to cater for the dynamic needs of the industry with plans already underway to set up a school in Harare.
At the institutes’ AGM last week HLB Zimbabwe chattered accountants were appointed the auditors of the institute.
Meanwhile the institutes’ assets stood at $754 881 by end of 2017 up from $ 552 307 in 20116 while a $ 215 085 surplus for the year 2017 was attained up from $178 588 in 20
