ICZ continues fight against Covid 19, as it donates food hampers Parirenyatwa
THE Insurance Council of Zimbabwe, (ICZ) on Friday handed over food hampers to the medical and ancillary staff of Parirenyatwa Covid 19 Treatment Centre as part of alleviating the pressures the staff is enduring in the fight against the pandemic.
Insurance Council of Zimbabwe is an association of short term insurers and reinsurers in Zimbabwe.
Wilberforce Machimbidzofa, vice chairman ICZ public relations committee, said the donation of the hampers is part of the short-term insurance industry’s efforts to assist Covid 19 front line staff.
“Through the coordination of the Business Fight Covid Trust, is here today to honour the medical and ancillary staff of Parirenyatwa Covid 19 Treatment Centre for the sacrifices you continue to make providing the much needed care to patients,” he said.
He said corporates, it is their social responsibility to stand ready to partner the Government in resourcing and executing the necessary intervention activities in times of national need.
“We are pleased to note that the Zimbabwe coronavirus infection curve is flattening but that does not mean we are out of the woods yet. The Insurance Council of Zimbabwe will continue to collaborate with the Government and other relevant stakeholders involved in the fight against the spread of the virus and treatment of covid-19 patients to render assistance where it is required,” he noted.
Parirenyatwa Group CEO, Munzara said the food hampers have played a significant role in motivating staff.
“You covered some of their family needs, saved their time looking for cheaper groceries and made them save from their salaries,” she said.
