Fidelity Life appoints Chief Finance Officer


HARARE, Fidelity Life Assurance has appointed Patricia Zvandasara as Group Chief Finance Officer effective 01 October 2017. She has worked in various local and international organisations and extensive experience spanning over 22 years particularly in the insurance industry.

“She served in various senior leadership capacities where she drove operational and financial efficiency whilst establishing core matrices that optimize and maximize team and corporate performance,” said the group in a statement.

Patricia holds an Honours Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of South Africa and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

“She currently serves as a Member of the Women’s Chartered Accountants Networks, whose purpose is to develop female chartered accountants for influence and relevance at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe and in the economy at large.”

In 2016, Fidelity suspended its top management at the instigation of regulator IPEC amid concerns of mismanagement of funds among a host of other issues.  Consequently, in order to facilitate a forensic audit requested for by the Insurance and Pensions Commission and management was sent on leave during the tenure of the audit.

Nyaradzo Matindike was then the acting Managing Director until a recent appointment of Reuben Java to the position.
