
Women in Insurance Zimbabwe (WIZ) finally launches

HARARE, The Women in Insurance Zimbabwe (W.I.Z) which was initially to launch in May last year, has now rescheduled its launch to March 12, 2021, as the organization continues to advance the upliftment of woman in insurance in Zimbabwe.
The initial launch was delayed due to the developments around COVID-19, with Zimbabwe instituting its first lockdown in March 2020.
“However, during the lockdown period the association has been conducting free webinars which has empowered women and equipped them with tools and skills to fulfil the gap between roles, demands and challenges of the new working world,” Ruth Ncube, the association’s president said.
She added that the WIZ has grown to be known for tailored and engaging webinars and workshops with a difference.
She said WIZ will continue to focus on areas which include leadership development, mentoring and coaching, smart time and goal management and self-awareness, and through partnerships with like-minded organizations.
“WIZ will provide tools and techniques to achieve tangible results in the lives of women in the Insurance Industry in Zimbabwe,” she noted.
The objective of the association is to recognize, support and uplift women working in the Insurance Industry in Zimbabwe.
Another core mandate of. W.I.Z is to develop women leaders, in order to drive equality in career advancement and leadership throughout the insurance industry.
Meanwhile, the launch which will be held virtually will be graced by several local and international speakers.
IPEC commissioner, Grace Muradzikwa will be the Guest of owner.
