Funeral industry employees get 3% salary and wages increase
HARARE, The Funeral Industry and Employers Association of Zimbabwe (FIEAZ) has reached a collective bargaining agreement which will see a 3% increase of salaries and wages for all funeral industry employees.
According to at latest government gazette, the agreement was reached with the National Employment Council for the Funeral Industry.
The agreement was made in pursuant to The National Employment Council for the Funeral Industry principal agreement published in statute instrument 76 of 2016.
The agreement will see companies or employers in the funeral industry awarding a 3% salary or wage for all grades for the period 1st of July 2018 to 31st December 2018.
“Companies employers with employees earning salaries above minimum per grade stipulated in the table below should not reduce salaries for their employees but should adjust the grade minimum accordingly an maintain the dollar difference,” read the update.
While companies which are able to pay more were encouraged to do so and send advice of such increase to the NEC those that could not are to award these increase were ordered to apply for exception.
In terms of section 29 of the collective bargaining agreement, such applications should be accompanied by the appropriate financial statements justifying the application for exemption.
