CIMAS to continue accepting RTGS contributions
HARARE, CIMAS says it will continue to accept contributions from both Nostro FCA accounts and RTGs FCA accounts until a contrary directive is issued by the monetary authorities.
The countries’ economic situation is affecting the health sector as pharmacies and private hospitals are rejecting medical aid schemes with prices of critical drugs going up.
In an update Cimas said although the availability of medicines is not encouraging, it was taking proactive measures to ensure that all its members can access the medication they require.
“This includes aggressively engaging stakeholders and regulators to ensure an adequate supply of pharmaceutical drugs to all our Cimas pharmacies and to pharmacies within the its network.
Members who experience challenges in accessing supplies especially those that are on chronic medications, should contact Cimas connect for assistance. Similarly members who encounter any service challenges should also contact Cimas connect,” said Cimas.
Cimas said as announced by monetary authorities the RTGS FCA balances are at parity with the US dollar and until authorities advise otherwise it will continue to accept contributions from both nostro FCA accounts and RTGS FCA Accounts.
“Cimas is aware of the challenges some members may be experiencing in accessing medicines and treatment. While we are aware that that doctors and other health service providers including hospitals are generally very concerned about the situation the majority of service providers are still offering services to our members,” said Cimas.
