South African funeral assurer unveils a funeral cover product for Zimbabweans

HARARE, A South African funeral financial services company, Transafrica has unveiled a funeral cover product  known as Zim Transafrica Life targeted at over one million Zimbabweans living and working in that country.

The company which has other products that are specifically designed for Zimbabwean citizens working in South Africa says the new product offers up to R20 000 Funeral cover and takes care of the burden of body repatriation expenses and the cost of funeral in Zimbabwe.

“Cover yourself for a funeral with premiums starting at R75 per month. You will get a funeral with benefits including repatriation of body to Zimbabwe and funeral services such as a coffin, family car and chairs,” the company said in a statement on its website.

It said the benefits vary according to the amount one chooses for the cover. Cover is included for children under 21 years, your spouse and extended family members, subject to terms and conditions.

According to the company, Transafrica prides itself to being a specialist in the funeral industry with more than 20 years’ experience.

Terms and conditions of the cover include that:

>Children under the age of 21 years are covered.

>Only one spouse is covered.

>Our monthly Premium starts from R75-00.

>The policy holder qualifies for cover after seven months of consecutive payments.

>Monthly premiums are due on or before the 10th of every month.

>ln the event that you default payment for two months, the policy will lapse,

>Please be advised that we do not cover still born babies.

>Only the policy holder is allowed to alter or change any information on the policy document. 

Policy benefits:

>The policy holder has the opportunity to choose between the following:

>Local (S.A). We provide a coffin, hearse, famity car and basic services.

>Foreigners i.e. those who die in S.A, We provide a coffin, 13 seater quantum and basic services.

>No benefits may be claimed by any person who is not a registered beneficiary.
