HARARE, THE Insurance and Pensions Commission (Ipec) has closed two of its offices to allow for deep cleaning and disinfection of the offices after one of its employees tested positive of the corona virus.

The Commission joins several companies, supermarkets which have closed branches and offices as preventive measures against further spreading of the virus within their employees.

“While the Commission had already scaled down its operations from the end of March with majority of staff working from home, it facilitated the testing of all employees in the interest of safety and the PCR results for one of the employees have come out positive for Covid 19,” Grace Muradzikwa, the Ipec boss said in a statement.

She added that the Commission is rendering all the necessary support to the affected employee who is asymptomatic and is self-isolating at home.

The closed offices include the offices at 160 Rhodesville Avenue, Greendale and at the Kingston House, corner Leopold Takawira/Kwame Nkrumah Avenue in Harare, closed temporarily from 30 July 2020 to August 3, 2020.
